A FEW THOUGHTS ON TODAYS READING...

God is not limited in how He chooses to work or present Himself. There are times He chooses to act in a very public and demonstrable way, while at other times He chooses to reveal Himself personally to an individual.
We read in Job 35:10, "But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night,".

There are those times that God comes alongside us privately, not publicly, for quiet times of refreshment and encouragement. Just as a father will sometimes say things aloud to the entire family, while at other times will sit side by side with one of his children for a private time of encouragement. We read in Job 37:5-7, "God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work." Paul writes in Romans 1:20, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,". God has made Himself known and continues to make Himself known. To those who like to question the fairness of God, making statements like, "How fair is it for so and so to be judged when they had no way of hearing about the One True God", they mistakenly believe that God is somehow limited in how He chooses to reveal Himself both publicly and privately to individuals.

The reality is God is not silent. All too often people choose not to listen to Him. God continues to reveal Himself in both large and small ways, but the world is often too distracted to notice so many explain it away, or simply disregard. Every knee will one day bow before Jesus and the entirety of humanity will be without excuse. Some will bow that knee and hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord'." But the great majority will bow their knee before Him in front of the Great White Throne judgment described Revelation 20:11-15, before entering into eternal separation from God and torment. Jesus said in Matthew 11:25, "I thank you , Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes." May we all, every day, spend time alone with our Father, allowing Him to talk to us, and bring us closer to Himself. He is talking, are we listening?
